In May 2001, having finished its testing at ESTEC, the Envisat satellite began was packed up and began its journey to French Guayana in preparation for its launch on Ariane 5. The satellite had to be split and transported in two large containers: a Payload Module container and a Service Module container. The satellite was shipped to Kourou, the European Space Port in French Guyana, on 15 May on Board an Antonov 124.
These rushes have been filmed upon Envisats arrival in Kourou and feature the transportation at night from Kourou's airport to the Integration Hall where the final preparations will occur to make Envisat ready for launch.
