    • Description

On 12 October 2012 a Soyuz will be launched from Europe's Space Port in French Guiana, carrying into orbit the second pair of the so-called Galileo IOV satellites. The first 2 satellites were sent a year ago marking the start of the Galileo Operations.
IOV stands for In-Orbit Validation: this phase is when the Galileo system is assessed through tests, using the a mini constellation of four operational satellites and their related ground infrastructure. This Video News release explains the different aspects of this third Soyuz launch from Kourou which marks another concrete step for the Galileo Programme.
The short film includes Interviews with Javier Benedicto, ESA Galileo Project Manager, in English, French and Spanish and Giuliano Gatti, ESA Galileo Space segment Manager, in English and Italian.
