Vigil's magnetometer

Planned for launch in 2031, ESA’s Vigil mission will study coronal mass ejections and other activity from the Sun. Pictured here is the spacecraft’s magnetometer, which is being built in the UK in partnership with IWF Austria. This instrument will measure the interplanetary magnetic field. The spacecraft is being developed by Airbus UK.
